The End is Near

I hesitate to write an entry because it requires that I acknowledge the passing of time, which requires that I acknowledge that I have only two weeks left in Paris before the plane on which I have a reservation is scheduled to depart. I am, in a word, conflicted about this fact. It forces me to ponder...

But life goes on...and I tend to my domestic duties...

Jill came to visit, here she is very happy with the lovely Warren...

But I have to admit, things have started to get weird. Now all I take pictures of is the moon...

...and the Catacombs...

I will try to cheer things up a bit when I get back from Amsterdam!

Belleville

The streets wind up to the top of a hill that has a view of Paris that seriously rivals Montmartre...fuck it it beats Montmartre, and there are no tourists, except for me of course...

Belleville Parc...awww yeah...

BK en Paris

I found Brooklyn in Paris and made a day of it. First, Sunday brunch on the Canal St. Martin...

Then, reading in the park

More reading by the canal...

Jeudi

For the Jews...

That night, Severeine and I went out to a bar near La Sorbonne. Jessica, you would love it. They played Joy Division, then the Cure, then the Smiths, then more Joy Division. We requested the Pixies and the DJ (who had the most impressive bags under his eyes that I have ever seen) acquiesced...

Soiree

Thank you Julie and Julian for a wonderful evening. Julie made a gratin of zucchini, cheeses and mint.

And then there was le fromage...

Touristy

Paris is very fancy you know...

Jill, when you were 17, your petite pieds were in this fountain...do you remember that?

WWF

Because of Rugby, the city of Paris is flooded with rowdy rowdy Scottish guys. This one's name is Robert. And yes, he was wearing a kilt.

Supermarche

Food is endlessly interesting to me...

Les autres choses

You've all heard of boule, but did you know that the adorable retired French men who play boule in Le Jardin de Luxembourg have a special rack on which to hang their coats while they play? So civilized.

Pia took me to a party. Apparently it was a typical young, rich, Parisian party. It was okay.

That night Pia told me that I was going to be a bad influence on her...but how is that possible?
